Undergraduate and postgraduate students are invited to enter our annual student paper competition, to be judged at our forthcoming academic symposium.

Competition Rules and Timeline

Abstracts to be submitted by 1st February. See call for papers for more information and submission guidelines.

Successful abstracts will be selected for poster presentation or oral presentation.

Student papers selected for oral presentation will be then invited to enter the next round of the competition by submitting a written version of their paper by 15th April.

Papers should be a maximum of 5,000 words, excluding footnotes and bibliography. To be eligible for the prize, students should ensure that their script is anonymised and should provide, within the body of the email, their name, affiliation, level of study and the title of the paper.

From these submitted papers, a shortlist will be compiled. Shortlisted papers will be presented in a special plenary session at the symposium. (All other student papers will be presented in parallel sessions.)

A £50 Amazon voucher will be awarded to the best paper.

Judges’ decision is final.
