Sara Améstegui Deik

Sara began her doctoral work with us in January 2020 under the supervision of Stephen Finamore. Her research focuses on how dispensational eschatology influences Palestinian reception of the gospel. Sara lives in Bolivia with her husband and their daughter.

Francis Mathew

Francis graduated with an MDiv (2019) and MTh in Old Testament (2021) from the South Asia Institute of Advanced Christian Studies (SAIACS). He began his doctoral studies with us in September 2021. His research aims to understand the silence of God in the rape narratives in the OT, and his supervisor is Helen Paynter. He lives in Bangalore, India, with his wife.

Carolyn Whitnall

Carolyn completed a ‘Bible and Violence’ track MA with us in 2022 and began her PhD in January 2023, under the supervision of Helen Paynter. Her research explores the interpretation and use of scripture in the neo-charismatic evangelical movement sometimes called the New Apostolic Reformation. Carolyn lives in Bristol with her husband Ben.

Vincent Ho

Vincent graduated with a ThM from Alliance Bible Seminary, Hong Kong in 2022. He began his doctoral studies with us in January 2024 under the supervision of Helen Paynter. His research aims to understand violence in the Book of Judges through the lens of Rene Girard’s theory. Vincent lives in Hong Kong with his wife and their daughter.
